My name is Vasily Kashkin, PhD, I am a business consultant and researcher in the field of global marketing and Social Media.

I speak Chinese, German, English and Russian. Don’t hesitate to use anyone of these languages to get in touch!

As a researcher I have published 8 books (as author or co-author), 26 academic papers and over 100 articles in various business magazines and newspapers. 2002 to 2020 I conducted over 60 research projects on economics, finance and marketing.

As a business consultant I have conducted over 70 courses in different countries (China, India, Great Britain, Germany, Russia & CIS, Egypt, Turkey etc.).

I have worked with leading global companies. I have also worked with government bodies in Russia, in particular, with the Parliament of Russia, Central Bank, Ministry of Economics, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Agriculture.
I have worked with international organizations either, such as the World Bank (IFC), the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development and as a member of LEASEUROPE (European Federation of Financial Leasing Associations).

Education and work:
I graduated from Finance University under the Government of Russian Federation, majoring in International economics and finance. PhD in Finance; my thesis was titled “Credit ratings in emerging and developing financial markets”.

2015 – Present working as lecturer, international marketing consultant and researcher. During this time I mostly worked in China both in business and academic research and as a lecturer.

2010 – 2015 I was managing partner of NMS market research agency. NMS specializes in market research and marketing consulting. We conducted a number of research projects for large international companies, such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Caterpillar, Volkswagen, MAN, Sojitz, Mitsubishi, General Electric, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, Intesa Bank, ING Bank, Volvo, Komatsu, Societe Generale and many others.

2006 – 2009 I worked in a large state-owned financial company JSC ROSAGROLEASING as the head of marketing & analytics. At the same time worked as Deputy Chairman and CEO of the Russian Association of Financial Leasing (Rosleasing).
The Association prepared projects of legal acts and amendments for government bodies, collected industrial statistics and served as a member of European Leasing Confederation.

2002 – 2005 I worked as an analyst of Bank ratings department in Russian leading credit rating agency Expert RA. In this position I conducted research for both private corporations and for the Central Bank of Russia, Parliament of Russia and in cooperation with World Bank.

2008 – 2014 worked (part-time) as editor / editor-in-chief for three specialized business magazines: Financial and Risk-Management in Leasing Companies, Marketing & Sales magazine and Financial Leasing.

In academic field I took part-time positions as a senior academic researcher for the State Institute of Macroeconomic Research under the Ministry of Economy of Russia as well as Associate professor in Economics in the “Institute for Public Business Education and Design” , Moscow.
